Adelaide's old faithful of Italian fare is still going strong
Amid the hubbub of the Central Market, Lucia’s is an oasis for tired shoppers and ravenous workers. Something of an institution in Adelaide, it is manned by a roster of no-nonsense Italian women who dish out heart-starting espresso and huge plates of pasta to the scores of people wandering through the markets each day. If you can, head here on a Friday, which is the only day they serve their lasagne. It is a mammoth square of up to 14 tender pasta sheets layered with a rich meat sauce and topped with parmesan. This is comfort food at its best and will have aching feet and tired arms ready for round two of the weekly shop before you know it.
