Virgin Mobile is giving away 25 bikes a week for three weeks
With the summer season finally getting under way, Brisbanites are ditching their cars in favour of the two-wheeled option. The city has boomed with new bike lines; cycling is a great, incidental way to exercise; and as a form of transport it's green and inexpensive.
Wanting to get in on Australia's 'cycling revolution'? Well now's your chance, folks.
There's just one week to go in Australia's biggest bike hunt. Virgin Mobile's new finders-keepers initiative, A Fair Ride For All, has seen the company give away 25 pushbikes a week for the last two weeks in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane. And this week is your last chance to snag one of the beautiful new bikes.
Fixies, racers, BMXs, mountain bikes and city bikes (valued between $600–$1500) will be hidden in each city, with clues to their whereabouts posted at the Fair Ride website each day. Updates will be posted on the @VirginMobileAus Twitter feed each day using #FairRide. To join the hunt, participants just need to like the bike model that they want to search for and will then be able to see the dates and general locations for the treasure hunt.
Can't decide if you're a fixie hipster or a BMX bandit? Like them both. There's no limit to the number of bike hunts you can join.
When the hunt begins, crack the first cryptic word clue, or hold out for a photo hint. The first person to locate and unlock each ride, will cruise away on the brand new set of wheels (helmet included).
Merry Christmas, indeed.
Join the hunt until Fri 16 Dec.
