In 2001 the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts was established as a home for creative arts in Brisbane. Named after the late Judith Wright, an acclaimed poet and staunch environmentalist, the centre provides a place where artistic pursuits can be practiced, displayed and performed. The centre is a hub for the local arts community and regularly features touring performers, artists and musicians in what proves to be an extensive and all-encompassing arts program.
