Tasty cocktails and friendly service rule at this inner-city bar
The Villager is one of those bars that's trying to be all things to all people, and while that could spell run-like-hell-and-make-for-the-Bowery, in actual fact they do good drinks, have some pretty decent staff who aim to please and some spicy buffalo wings on the menu we'll be going back for. Of course, it also means they have a plasma screen TV. Note to all bars: If you insist on having a TV at all, do something cool like play spaghetti westerns or old kung fu movies - don't tune it to old episodes of Two and a Half Men. Handy hint for prospective drinkers: if you want to avoid looking at Charlie Sheen's knees, take one of the outdoor seats out the front or sit at the bar and chat to the affable bartenders. There's plenty to like here, but you'll want to bring your own fun.
