Fortitude Valley is more than just super clubs and stripper malls. It's a fashion district, with cafe culture. And Flamingo is right in the heart of it. Wander down to Winn Street, and you'll suddenly find yourself in a tiny alley where on one hand there's a cute vintage store, a hairdresser and an EP by Easton Pearson store, and on the other there's this place. The outside is paved in Astroturf and dotted with wrought-iron garden furniture. The menu is a sweet selection of breakfast favourites (granola, toasties, scrambled eggs) and some very exciting brunchy things like the meatball slider. The coffee is well worth a look-in and they also do a good range of fresh squeezed juices, if you need a vitamin fix. This is one bird we hope never takes flight.
