A Very Special Episode of That 60s Show

It’s 1962 Baltimore and times are changing. Tracy Turnblad is a vivacious outsider in the burgeoning modern musical tradition of vivacious outsiders (see Glee): a big girl with a song in her heart and a full-blown symphony of a hairdo.Every afternoon, Tracy tunes into the American Bandstand-style teen dance programme The Corny Collins Show to watch nice white kids (and, once a month, Negroes!) strut their stuff.

Having picked up some new moves of her own from her African American classmates, Tracy earns a spot on The Corny Collins Show – much to the joy of her loving parents (Simon Gallaher in housewife drag and Gary Jones).Tracy falls hard for the show’s resident heartthrob Link Larkin (Dan Venz) while making enemies out of the show’s resident blonde Amber von Tussle and Amber’s Cruella de Vil figure producer mother (Liz Buchanan). With her typically boundless spirit, Tracy uses her newfound fame to make a difference and call for an end to segregation.

This feel good musical is always a hit so be sure to book early.
