This event has finished

Evolving from a small BBQ in 2004, the Black Harmony Gathering is now an annual multicultural event, showcasing local Koori and emerging refugee cultures through art, music and food. Multicultural Arts Victoria and the Warrior Spirit Art Collective are teaming up to present this afternoon of entertainment and activities, including performances from Yirrmal & the Yolngu Boys, Kutcha Edwards, Acholi Gospel Choir and the Koori Youth Will Shake Spears.

Following the gathering is a free forum at Fitzroy Town Hall, with indigenous and newly-arrived migrant and refugee speakers discussing the topic, ‘From Convicts to Boat People: colonisation, migration and historical Hypocrisy’.
