Back in its fourth year, this month-long festival is a celebration of the sites and stories that have shaped the state we know today. Events are scattered all over the state – and whether it's an soulful evening on Queencliff's Blues Train or an encounter with Melbourne's tallest mountain ash forests and tiniest possums, there's no doubt you'll find something to connect you with Victoria's rich heritage.

Western district landscape tour
Encounter extinct volcanoes, eerie caves and well-preserved homesteads in this two-day bus tour with some of Victoria’s experts in history and geography. You’ll be joined by Earth scientist Professor Bernie Joyce and historic conservationist Dr Tim Hubbard, whose fascinating commentary will bring the sweeping Western scenery to life. Sites include the Widderin Caves, Nehill Brothers Farm and Mooramong historic homestead, which was remodelled in 1938 in classic Hollywood style by screen star Claire Adams and her husband DJS Mackinnon. Goldfields steam train challenge
