You haven't lived in Melbourne long if you've never been to the music-filled, hot-people-watchin' St Kilda Fest. The main attraction is Sunday 12th Feb, when bands vye for the crowds' attention on six different stages for almost 12 hours of non-stop music and dancing. But it doesn't begin and end with Sunday: from 4–9 Feb there's the Yalukit William Ngargee Indigenous Arts & Culture Fest, and 5–11 Feb is the Live'n'Local fest, with aficionados able to see live music all over St Kilda for the week building up to the big day. So sure, go on Sunday – but also get yourself south of the Yarra the days before, too.
