Winter is bearing down on us like the hammer-wielding Nordic god Thor, bringer of thunder, lightning and widespread scarf-wearing. Sweden’s collective ability to warm up is legendary, whether through a well-appointed sauna or the provision of drinks that make you fuzzy enough that the cold won’t bother you at all. So it’s fitting that in July, to celebrate the release of its limited-edition Winter Cider, Sweden’s Rekorderlig is colonising the Belgian Beer Café Bluestone to host a pop-up Winter Forest bar.

Rekorderlig’s full range of ciders will be available, but star billing will go to its new Winter Cider, a concoction that blends the warm flavours of cinnamon, vanilla and apple. Served hot (with a slice of orange) or cold (over ice), and with a range of fruity accompaniments, the Winter Cider will finally prove that drinking cider is a good decision for the shivering as well as the sweaty. Surprise entertainments and Swedish food - not those meatballs from IKEA you like so much - will also be available. Rug up, practice saying the word ‘Rekorderlig’ a few times, and join in.
