Time Out Melbourne

This event has finished

Though the Chinese New Year festival will run for a month throughout Melbourne, the day to look forward to is February 10, 2013 – Day for the Year of the Black Snake. Be sure to catch the Dragon's Awakening Ceremony, where the dragon will parade through town, starting in Little Bourke St from 12.30pm.

Were you born in the Year of the Snake?

If you were born in 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989 or 2001 your friends would describe you as... independent, calculating, charismatically confident, best at working alone, good at shedding your skin and starting again. Like, uh, Charlie Sheen, Courtney Love and Kanye.
