Time Out Melbourne

This event has finished

Yarn bombers are the people responsible for the cute, quirky, kitschy knitted additions to bike poles, trees, benches and any other object in need of colourful adornment you may have seen around town. Two of Melbourne's famous yarn-bombers, Bali and Queenie will be running crochet workshops once a month, the profits from which will go to Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia.

It's all a part of Crochet for a Cause, which is raising them dollars for the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital in Ethiopia. "You cannot underestimate how much love a warm crocheted blanket gives to one of our fistula patients," says Lucy Perry, the CEO of Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia in Australia. "We have so many talented knitters and crocheters in Australia, keen to create shawls for our injured patients but 'Crochet for a Cause' helps take that interest and raise much-needed funds for our hospital. It's a win-win!" Hit up the website for more details on the next workshop.
