The City of Stonnington supports the arts with a host of concerts, performances and exhibitions. Take out your calendar and start marking in the Christmas celebrations... and don't stop till you get to the inaugural Glow Winter Arts Festival in August 2014.

Carols at Como Park

Como Park, Dec 13

Stonnington’s well-loved Christmas carols night is just around the corner. Hosted by comedian Lawrence Mooney with a guest appearance from family favourite Scooby Doo, there’ll be no shortage of laughter between carols, which will be performed by talented soloists and choral ensemble Choristry. The evening will finish with a spectacular fireworks finale.

In true jolly fashion, this year’s Carols at Central Park will be hosted by musical theatre comedian Mike McLeish, with a special guest appearance from family favourite Scooby Doo. Sing your heart out with the talented soloists as well as choral ensemble Choristry, supported by the Stonnington Brass Band.

Sunset Sounds: The Meltdown

In a foot-stomping start to the Sunset Sounds series, The Meltdown is bringing their rollicking fusion of soul and R&B to Victoria Gardens. Bring a picnic, and don’t forget your dancing shoes.

Pack your picnic and spend an evening under the stars with jazz legend Bob Sedergreen and a host of talented musicians, including the impressive Stonnington Youth Jazz Initiative. Special guests for 2014 include Julie O’Hara, Kerri Simpson, Jerome Smith and Brian Abrahams.

Set in the beautiful surrounds of Malvern Gardens, this event promises to be a highlight of the city’s outdoor summer offerings.

Stonnington Jazz 2014

Around Stonnington, May 15-25

In 2013, we named this event as one of the country's  top seven jazz festivals, and it has been named best Culture, Arts or Music event (Victoria) at the 2013 Australian Event Awards. For 11 days and nights, historic venues, including the  Malvern Town Hall and  Chapel Off Chapel, will become intimate jazz rooms hosting many emerging and acclaimed Australian jazz musicians. To complete your festival experience, look out for the Jazz Express menus offered by a number of restaurants in the surrounding suburbs.

Glow Winter Arts Festival

Let yourself be drawn to the warm glow of Stonnington’s inaugural Winter Arts Festival. Spanning across venues including Malvern Town Hall and Chapel Off Chapel, this festival will shed light onto Stonnington’s talented musicians, artists and performers.
