Essendon Symphony Orchestra: A Christmas Celebration

The artists formerly known as the Choir of Hard Knocks and renamed as the Essendon Symphony Orchestra will be performing all the festive favourites this Christmas. There will also be waltzes from Strauss and Tchaikovsky on the bill, and you can sing-a-long to get into the spirit.

Bach’s choral masterpiece Christmas Oratorio stands the test of time as one of history’s most joyful and uplifting depictions of the Christmas story. This performance is an all-star collaboration of the Australian Chamber Orchestra and singers hand-picked from the Choir of London.

Get stuck into the famous raspberry drops, or purchase wooden toys, hand crafted candles, Christmas puddings and more. Santa will be paying a visit to Sovereign Hill on this night, and there will also be entertainment from carollers, Ballarat Highland Dancers, a pipe band and face painters. In the spirit of Christmas entry is free.

The festival will feature several family friendly activities including local carol singing, an arts and craft market, free craft workshops and open-house viewings of the decked mansion halls.
