Discover the vibrant work of a contemporary Indigenous artist
Visit the TarraWarra Museum of Art to experience a decade of Danie Mellor’s contemporary Australian art. Maintaining strong links to his mother’s country of the Atherton Tablelands, Mellor tells the story of Australia since European settlement in the late 1780s. He narrates the story of the cultural differences and disputes between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australia by combining various media including pastels, pencil, glitter, Swarovski crystals and watercolour on paper and sculptural installations that include mosaic, taxidermy animals, gold leaf, neon and found objects.
