Harvest specialise in producing beautiful prints, fabrics, cushions and totes, as well as sharing their expertise with the community. Check out four workshops where you can get your hands dirty and make something pretty. Classes are intimate, so snap up a spot quick-smart.

Macrame plant hangers with Stampel Studio

Andrea Shaw from Stampel works in the ancient craft of macramé. Her plant hangers have been spotted at design fairs around town, and now she’s imparting her macramé wisdom upon us all. Whip out your old Girl Guide/Boy Scout knot-tying skills, and bring your own vintage tea cup as a vessel for your plant hanger. Sun May 6, 10.30am-4.30pm. $150.

Learn to screen print in a day

Screen printing isn’t an easy task to master, but you can learn the basics in a day: Harvest Workroom’s workshop is designed for creatives with little time. All materials are provided, including organic cotton and water-based ink. Tue May 27, 10.30am-4pm. $170.

Print and make your own lampshade

What’s not to love about lampshades? They provide sexy mood lighting and if you put one on your head you’re the life of the party. Harvest Workroom is offering you a day to make your own, with kick-arse screen printing equipment, a 10-metre work table, organic cotton, and water-based ink. Over two sessions, you’ll leave with both skills and a brand-new shade for your lamp. Win. Sat May 12 and Sun May 13, 10.30am-4pm. $295.

Screen printing intensive

This course will really allow you to sink your teeth into screen printing. Experts guide you through the trickier areas of the craft: using stencils, making a screen from a photographic exposure, using repetitive patterning and printing on wallpaper. 9 x Wed evening sessions (Apr 18-Jun 13).

All classes are held at Harvest Workroom, 512 Lygon St, East Brunswick. Make a booking.
