On the 11th of March 2011 a devastating tsunami hit Japan, sweeping away people, their possessions, and of course, their photos.
While attempting to restore their city, the people of Tohoku began to pick up photos they found and placed them in an school gymnasium. Many photos were damaged, but in an effort to return them to their owners, volunteers cleaned and digitalised them.
Lost & Found presents these photos in an interesting, if not heart wrenching exhibition reminding us of the relationship between our lives and photography as well as those who are still suffering in Japan. All proceeds go to the people of Yamamoto-cho.
