Rue Bebelons is not just another Melbourne alleyway bar – it was one of the city’s first. With white tablecloths on tables scattered around the amber-lit bar, Rue Bebs is where the Emerging Writers Festival and the Healys Comedy Festival Show call home. Bars may come and go but it’s hard to imagine Melbourne without Rue Bebs as the kind of bar where everyone from suits to scruffy uni students are welcome for a jug of sangria or an espresso.
