Time Out Melbourne

The Railway Hotel's bottle shop in Windsor encourages you to pull an all nighter on Chapel Street

The gang at The Railway Hotel know their audience well. They supply hoards of late night Chapel Street revellers with party fuel at all manner of ungodly hours – they never close.

Located just opposite the railway station, huge crowds descend upon the venue every Sunday for sunny terrace sessions that kick on into the night. It's not just-another-Chapel-Street-boozer, though. The top floor rooms are somewhat regal with their glowing box light fixtures and walls lined with a golden veil of beads. They also stock some quality liquor here and the legacy of Wizey Baleitavuki, cocktail son-of-a-gun and Chartreuse fan who put in serious time here, lives on. They do, however, hold strong to their hotel title with a food menu that promises everything you want from a local – Monday is pot and parma night and Wednesday is burger day.

It's a pretty venue, with decent drinks and a bottle shop open 24-7. What more could you ask for.
