If you like a little liquor with your bluegrass, but don't love moonshine, the Darebin Music Feast has your back. From now until September 29, the Local Spirits crew (Tromba tequila, West Winds gin, and 666 vodka) are running a sweet hooch station just outside the Northcote Town Hall (aka festival HQ).
Fred Siggins (Black Pearl booze slinger) planned the drinks, so while they might be using paper cups, what's in them is good. Get your mitts around a Negroni – they're mixing the gin and Campari with locally made Maidenii vermouth. Or, if you plan to get a thigh slapping jig on, dose yourself with a frothy tequila espresso martini.
And jigging there will be. The tent has its own stage, so you'll be getting some tunes with your beers. On the fizzy front, Doss Blockos' beers-in-bags and Golden Axe ciders are on hand, as well as a few wines from Clare 'Humble Tumbler' Burder. Round the Way food truck is there slinging bagels, too.
The bar opens at noon and parties till 11pm. Get down, and get on down.
