You may have heard about Anna’s Go-Go Academy from members of her growing go-go army, or seen her teach a class en masse at Falls Festival. The go-go guru and ordained minister of the Elvis Presleyterian church runs three casual go-go classes at different venues around Melbourne every week.
Anna’s mission goes beyond teaching ’60s-style go-go dance moves to revive some of the greatest fad dances of all time from ‘The Twist’ to ‘Thriller’ and everything in between. The moves are super-easy and Anna cracks constant gags in between showing you moves like the mashed potato, the watusi and the bony marony. Instead of PCB-free water bottles, people swig from glasses of champers at the bar in between songs, so this clearly isn’t a class that takes itself too seriously.
