On Friday April 12, Time Out Melbourne literally and figuratively jumped into bed with the Australian Burlesque Festival to bring our readers a free evening of debauchery with Sirens of Sin at The LuWow in Fitzroy.

The Melbourne burlesque world’s favourite MC Aurora Kurth hosted the night, providing equal parts slap and tickle and snort and giggle, as she took us on a diabolical stroll through the seven deadly sins we try to avoid but know all too well.

Featuring Dolores Daiquiri, Rosy Rabbit, Poppy Cherry, Sina King, Vesper White and Magenta Rose, the event was a cheeky peep show into what to expect once the Australian Burlesque Festival gets into full swing in June.

Prizes for best dressed were given out to a lucky few after each of the seven performances. The ‘Envy’ winner scoring a semi-precious ring from my Global Hunter and the ‘Sloth’ winners finding themselves in a luxurious Crown hotel room.

Gluttony was presented a decadent chocolate hamper from Monsieur Truffe with the winners of ‘Lust’ enrolling in a 8 week burlesque course from Bottoms Up Burlesque and another a beginners bondage kit from Fifty Shades of Grey.

The vanity prize of a $200 lingerie voucher from Simone Perle and a manicure from Iscream Nails certainly wasn't inciting modesty, neither was the greed prize of a $200 voucher for Rockpool Bar and Grill. The pint sized poppet who won the Wrath prize found herself with a weeks free membership and a personal training session with Fight Fit South Melbourne.

Showgoers stuck around after the performances and took advantage of their two free tropical rum cocktails designed by the tiki masterminds at LuWow. And just as they may have been preparing to move on into the night, the Snake Eyed Rollers arrived on stage with a collection of original and cover tracks banging out their signature dirty blues and vintage rockabilly that had the crowd twisting and shaking well into Saturday morning.

Time Out Melbourne thanks our amazing sponsors for their generous prize donations and support on the night...
