Time Out Melbourne

If you're after a Saturday night experience as regular as All-Bran, these three will keep you on your toes

One Six One is one of Chapel Street’s classic clubs and Audioporn is a long-running recipe for a great Saturday night. Take a healthy dose of local DJs like Dr Zoc, James Ware, China, Hoops and Rowie, add in more action downstairs with Lewie Day, Mick Newman and Jake and Nicky. One Six One, 161 High St, Prahran. 9pm. $15.

Red Light

Red Light Saturdays have only been going since April at inner-city hot spot Roxanne, but they’ve already made a name for themselves as some of the best messy nights you’ll ever half remember. They’ve got a host of regular DJs including Melbourne lads Polyfonik. Roxanne, Lvl 3, 2 Coverlid Pl, Melbourne. 10pm. $15-$20.

Pop Rox

If you want to throw all pretension aside and dance to the cheesiest pop on the market, Pop Rox at Barrys will do you well. Throw on your comfiest dancing shoes (the doorperson is unlikely to judge you for them) and settle in to one of their three dance floors for a long night of bedroom-rehearsed dance moves totally judgement free. Did someone just sing Jason Derulo? A Bar Called Barry, 64 Smith St, Fitzroy. 9pm, $10.
