Time Out Melbourne

You can't do '20s until you can do the Charleston. These schools will teach you hop, swish and swing, baby

1929 Studio

Every Tuesday this school teaches swing for beginners and those who are just getting the hang of it, followed by an advanced session in Charleston or Lindy Hop moves. Afterwards, there’s social dancing where everyone just goes for it.

House of Burlesque

The bombshell babes at the House of Burlesque are always donning sequins and feathers, and they’re currently planning another ’20s-themed dance extravaganza. Keep an eye on the website for details.

Swing Patrol

This organisation runs classes all over Melbourne, hosts social dancing sessions most nights of the week and organises events throughout the year. They teach styles of swing from the ’20s through ’50s.
