Local club legend Steve Costa launched New Guernica out of the ashes of F4... and now the Collins St club is walking the wild side seven days a week
"We closed F4 and within two-and-a-half weeks we opened New Guernica,” says Steve Costa, a promoter famed for bringing over underground legends and nurturing talent closer to home. “We demolished it and turned it around very quickly, working 20-hour days to get it done.”
The result is part flora and fauna enclosure, part Goldilocks house, part party palace – and Costa had a good reason to flip the script. “We were trying to keep the venue interesting. We have a cool new plan to start a caravan bar in the alleyway. We want to do the full gamut of hospitality seven days a week.”
