2011 was a big first year for Checkpoint Charlie. The city's "premier above ground underground comedy room" played host to Greg Fleet, Jeff Green, Dave Thornton, Lawrence Mooney, Felicity Ward, Michael Chamberlin, Asher Treleaven and David Quirk among others, and has gained a solid reputation as a next generation comedy club.
"A lot of the younger, fresh-faced talent (Raw Comedy winners et al.) flock to our room and we get a lot of uni crowds that are keen for a cheap mid-week drink and a laugh," says room runner and comic Mike Nayna.
So get down every Wednesday for some cheap piss and piss-cheap entry, and put your continence to the ultimate test.
