Time Out Melbourne

This event has finished

Unwind under the stars with a top film – and food trucks on hand

Saturday night live music sessions will be more than enough reason to get a big group of friends together and get to the Melbourne Moonlight Cinemas this season. Bring some dips and cheese, pack a bottle of wine or two and enjoy some tunes as the sun sets prior to the film. A new LA-style food truck will be serving street fare so you can add a side of pizzazz to your popcorn. Barefoot dancing on the grass is almost mandatory.

To toast the beginning of a long summer of cinema under the stars, Moonlight Cinema will be hosting a glittering red carpet affair, with celebrity guests. Also returning this season: Doggie Nights for film-loving pooches and their humans to catch a movie together, along with the usual cult classic nights and special themed screenings. Tickets for the summer go on sale in November, with options of 'gold grass' viewing and beanbags for hire. Check website for listings.
