Currently in its fourth year, Made in Melbourne celebrates budding film-makers' work as well as locally produced films that have had international success. The two-day festival will kick off at the grand old Astor theatre, with an evening session hosted by veteran Melbourne actor Jeremy Kewley.
The night will be a great chance to get amongst our oh-so-cultural city's cinemaphiles and catch some of their work. A must-see from the Friday filmic offerings is The Wilding, a powerful drama about a relationship between two juvenile inmates in a detention centre. Directed by Grant Sciculna's, The Wilding has been screened at festivals worldwide including Berlin and Palm Springs. Tickets are sold on the door for $10 a pop.
