Melbourne, salute your shorts

This event has finished

Flickerfest returns to Melbourne, Wednesday 13 February. Join in on this 46-venue national tour and experience the impressive ‘Made in Melbourne’ programme, showcasing exceptional local shorts selected from over 2300 entries received for the Flickerfest official Academy® Accredited competition in Sydney. Joining the Melbourne highlights on the big screen will also be a selection of incredible Flickerfest international award winners.

Film goers are invited to a fully catered afterparty. Support local and have a great time!

Some of the favourite Aussie home-grown shorts to look out for:

RUNNING GIRL
Unrequited love - How far would you go?

YARDBIRD
A young girl living in a remote wrecking yard takes on the local bullies when they set out to torment her father.

LOIS
When Lois reads a long awaited letter, her world is turned upside down. Her reaction defies the limits of human possibility.

QUINKIN
In a nameless future, Paul and Vox are hunters intent on capturing the Quinkin, a deadly shadow beast. Their uneasy relationship is strained and twisted by a riddle, to which only Paul knows the answer.

GLOBE COLLECTOR
Andrew Pullen collects light globes. He has well over 10,000 of them in one of the worlds largest collections. This film takes us into his incredible world where a passion for electronics is all consuming and a diagnosis of Asbergers syndrome is nothing more than a label.

THE MAN WHO COULDN’T DREAM
Samuel is 9 years old. He will be remembered as a thief, arsonist and a murderer.
