Opening night
The opening night celebrates 100 Years of Indian Feature Films and the second year of the IFF through a vibrant and enigmatic journey across Bollywood film. The largest film industry in the world rejoices with a double screening of Raja Harishchandra (1913), India's very first feature film, plus Harishchandrachi Factory (2009), the inspirational story of how this film was made. The IFF honours the late filmmaker and Festival patron Yash Chopra with a visual display of his works throughout the festival. Hoyts Melbourne Central . Fri May 3, 7pm. $25.

Telstra Bollywood Dance Competition
Bollywood dancers will be in a sweat trying to win the praise of the Indian god of dance, Prabhudeva, as well as a trip to India. Dancers will be judged by renowned filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan alongside Bollywood director Kabir Khan. Main Stage, Federation Square. Sat May 4, 6pm.
