Time Out Melbourne

This event has finished

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s you in front of a green screen!

In 1978, Superman promised, “you’ll believe a man can fly.” But why let Hollywood do your imagining for you? One of ACMI’s Kids in the Studio events, How to Be a Superhero is a two-hour workshop for wannabe superheroes aged six to 12. They’ll work together to create their own adventures, explore green screen technology and can take the footage home on USB for an extra $10.

Superman, Spider-Man, Batman, Iron Man – they’re awesome, but they’re also decades-old and owned by enormous corporations. We always need new heroes. Maybe your costumes and special effects won’t be quite as fancy, but it’s what’s under the cape that counts.
