Time Out Melbourne

This event has finished

This reinterpretation of the '90s cult film My Own Private Idaho certainly sounds intriguing. Part dance and part text, writer Kevin McGreal and performer Jessi Lewis explore its place in pop culture, the way we respond to it, and how – or if – we see ourselves reflected in the story, and the film’s star and screen icon River Phoenix. Is it Hollywood, or the audience, that’s calling the shots when it comes to queer representation? It sounds challenging, but it promises to be fun too.
