Cringe, cry and cheer along at the GH Hotel - they're screening the finals on their six-metre screen!

You can trust St Kilda's GH Hotel to throw a good Eurovision party – partly thanks to their six-metre LED video screen, and partly due to the atmosphere, which will be large and loud.

This year, Denmark is hosting, after Emmelie de Forest won the contest in 2013 with ‘Only Teardrops’. Even though Copenhagen is half a world away, you can still join in the festivities here at home and there's even more reason to tune in, now that AUSTRALIA WILL BE TAKING PART! Okay, so we're providing the interval act in the semi-finals, rather than entering the contest – but that's still a good enough reason to join in with the jolly jingoism. Jessica Mauboy will be representing... go Jess! Julia Zemiro and Sam Pang, unashamed Eurovision fans, will be representing Australia in the media room and sharing their cheeky commentary. Douze points!

Here's how to get the most out of it:

Dress for the occasion. You can never have enough white pant suits or sequins. If in doubt, recycle your Mardi Gras outfit; no one will know.

If you’re inviting friends around, ensure you have some Danish treats, such as Ableskiver (Danish doughnuts), to snack on. Some rollmops and dolmades never go astray either.

Drinking games are great fun, but go easy. If you have a BIG scoll at every key change or topless male dancer, you’ll be so merry, you’ll pass out during the voting results and miss out on who won!

When it comes to social media, steer clear during the day of the Grand Final in case of spoilers, but during the broadcast itself, feel free to follow Facebook and Twitter feeds to share your own witty bon mots and enjoy other people’s insights.
