Time Out Melbourne

This event has finished

The Laird opens its doors to everyone for a day of auctions, market stalls and a barbecue, all with a kinky twist

It’s become an annual event, the Laird's Northside Bizarre, and it’s both a fun afternoon and a great fundraiser for the David Williams Fund and JOY 94.9. T
The Victorian AIDS Council’s Auction House will be in the Back Bar. There’ll be three auction lots, hosted by health educator Tex McKenzie and special celebrity guests, and each kicking off with a sexy fetish performance to get you in the mood before the bidding begins. Expect leather and fetish items – and some surprises  – up for auction, from $1 to $1,000.
The Market Place this year will be taking over the Nuggets front bar and the Pool Room, and there’ll be stalls selling all sorts of things, from art and handcrafts to pre-loved leather and fetish wear, books, and all manner of other bits and bobs.

And of course, the beer garden will host JOY 94.9’s Backyard BBQ, where everyone can have a beer and get their hand on a sausage or two. Who knows, maybe the day will beat last year’s fundraising record of $19,000.
