Encourage an interest in fresh food and nutrition with Grow Your Own Oyster Mushroom Kits

The crew at Fungi Culture want to help teach your kids how and where their food is produced. They have developed Grow Your Own Oyster Mushroom Kits, designed to let you grow gourmet mushrooms in your house, with no mess or fuss.

Easy to use (must be – Time Out has one and got it working nicely), the kit is no bigger than a tissue box and only needs a few sprays of water a day. Almost a week later, you will be able to harvest up to half a kilo of oyster mushrooms to use when preparing a family meal together. Getting kids to grow their own food helps encourage an interest in nutrition, fresh food and the environment. What’s more, these kits promote sustainability, as the oyster mushrooms are grown on recycled waste and compost material.
