Tutankhamun’s treasures will bring out your inner Egyptologist

While most of the world will be celebrating Willy and Katie’s wedding in April, Melbourne will be hosting a royal visit of their own – Tutankhamun.
Ancient Egypt arrives in Melbourne (it’s only Australian stop) and features relics such as the crown found on Tut’s head when the tomb was discovered. We’ll be lining up to take a peek at Tutankhamun's golden canopic coffin – something not even a royal wedding can beat.

This Review describes perfectly the best way to feel about, and look at, the Exhibition itself. The advertising features a face belonging to a small Coffinette (on display) which is similar to the face of Tutankhamun's Death Mask, and this is proving to be confusing and/or disappointing to anyone expecting to see the Mask. Although Tut's Mask is not included, there is still a wonderful array of artifacts on display. For me all aspects were great, including the 3D film and audio. Worth a look also is the Mummy Room which is located seperately from the other exhibit rooms. If time allows, immerse yourself into the whole thing, and you will have an enjoyable experience.

Thank so much for the in depth review. There's so little information on the website about what is actually on display.

No the death mask is not there - despite photos of it hanging all over the building.

I saw this in London and noteable by it's absence was King Tut's death mask - the mask of Tutankhamun's mummy and most iconic King Tut item. Will it be there?
