Hellenic Museum

Many Melbourne museums are free all year round, like the Hellenic Museum, dedicated to Greek culture, history and settlement in Australia.


Coops Shot Tower


Melbourne

Bang in the middle of the Melbourne Central shopping centre is the Coops Shot Tower, with a small museum inside, open Thu-Sat each week.


The Victoria Police Museum


Docklands

The Victoria Police Museum hosts Kelly Gang armour, photos of crime scenes and forensic evidence.


RAAF Museum


Point Cook

Over in Point Cook the RAAF (Royal Australian Air Force) Museum is on the site of the birthplace of the Australian Flying Corps and the RAAF.


NGV International


Melbourne

As for some transient exhibitions worth catching, over at the NGV International, Ballet & Fashion showcases sumptuous and bizarre collaborations between dance and design (until May 19).


State Library of Victoria


Melbourne

At the State Library of Victoria, most exhibitions are free. Try Gusto! A Culinary History of Victoria – guaranteed to get stomachs rumbling (until Apr 28).
