Weird and wonderful animals and unique marine adventures await you here
Spread over three levels and four "worlds", Melbourne's Aquarium is family entertainment at its most fascinating. Having recently welcomed Australia's first Antarctic penguin chicks aka "Little Feet", the venue's wing dedicated to the "big white" of Antarctica shows off King and Gentoo penguins, allows you to follow in the footfalls of famous Antarctic explorers and even walk through Nella Dan, a replica of one of the world's most famous Icebreakers. Don't miss the daily penguin feeding either! Elsewhere, the world of Weird & Wonderful will unveil strange marine life such as colour-switching cuttlefish, sweet-as-pie Sydney sea dragons, armoured crabs and spectacular Lionfish. There's even more marine exotica in River to Reef, an aquatic jungle full of waterfalls, caves and waterways teeming with turtles, mighty Murray Cod and deadly poison arrow frogs. Peek around the corner and you'll discoverb a floor-to-ceiling Coral Atoll and a Jellies Room, where the blubbery beasts are lit-up like disco gthosts by UV lights. The fourth world is Sharks Alive where the menacing "men in grey suits" cruise around in a 2.2 million litre oceanarium filled to the gills with stingrays, turtles and many, many other species of fish life. There are daily Ocean Theatre presentations, kids’ birthday party packages and even the chance to dive face-to-face with the leviathans themselves!
