A fun-raiser for Gen B as she takes on the Big C, with Angie Hart, Dan Kelly and Architecture in Helsinki
An indomitable figure on Melbourne’s indie music scene, both as a performer and broadcaster, Genevieve Blackmore has been battling cancer. Her friends, fellow musos, DJs, TV and radio personalities are banding together at the Corner Hotel to raise funds for her medical treatment.
Says Angie Hart, "Gen Fest is a FUNraiser for our dear friend, Genny B. In the spirit of fun and the raising of it, we have been graced with blessed music from some of Melbourne's finest, including Dan Kelly and His Dream Band, Teeth and Tongue presenting brand new material that she will be debuting overseas next month. There will be giveaway CD packs and DJ sets from Architecture In Helsinki, Trifecta and Chapter Music and some rip-snorting hosting from Alan Brough (Spicks and Specks) and Jess McGuire (3RRR), grins are guaranteed. It's hard to take in the generosity of all of these artists. We are blessed to have them all performing under the one roof for this very worthy cause. What a FUNraiser! The love is palpable."
With all those local rock gods and goddesses in the one venue on the one night, it’s staggeringly good value at only $25 a ticket – and every buck helps.
