In this very special show, Australia's favourite French-born local boy Albare will be performing his new album, Long Way, with the same players who brought it to life in the studio. And it's a pretty freakin' impressive bunch of players, drawn from every corner of the world.
Under the auspices of the International Travel Diary supergroup we have Albare on guitar, joined by his longtime wingman, the Greek-Italian bassist Evripidis Evripidou. Then there's Mexican-born three-time Grammy Award-winning drummer Antonio Sanchez coming all the way from the US, joined by Argentinian pianist Leo Genovese, German harmonica-tooting Hendrick Muerkens, and the saxy George Garzone (who teaches at no less an institution than the Berklee College). This is a multicultural musical affair if ever we saw one.
They're only playing one exclusive Melbourne show, so get in quick: you'll never see this line up perform like this again.
This concert is part of the Melbourne International Jazz Festival.
