As part of the Local Heroes Series 2012, the Melbourne Recital Centre presents By Royal Appointment by Samantha Cohen and Ruth Wilkinson of the Continuo Collective.
Cohen and Wilkinson will play music written by Francois Couperin and Jacques Hotteterre for King Louis XIV's chamber, and bring to life the sounds of 17th century France and the palace of Versailles.
It will be a night for the upbeat minuet and gavotte, made only more exquisite by Wilkinson's 'voice flute' and Cohen's theorbo. (It's a type of lute, fyi.)
