Swans emerged from the New York 'No Wave' underground movement in the 1980s and have since produced 12 studio albums. Never has the body – and its functions – been so thoroughly dissected by a group; and all to the relentless grinding of industrial loops, bowel-bothering bass lines and a drum kit assembled from scrap metal.
The band took a break from music in 1997 and later reformed at the instigation of their frontman Michael Gira in 2010. Swans will be touring for All Tomorrow's Parties to promote their new album The Steer, which follows on from the 2010's, My Father Will Guide Me Up a Rope to the Sky. Their gig at the Corner will be their only sideshow.
