Every Monday night at the Old Bar in Fitzroy, beer flows freely (well... you have to pay, but it's liberally splashed around after that) as outstanding line-ups of established and new talent perform as part of the Unpaved Songwriter Sessions. You might expect to see Charles Jenkins, Liz Stinger, Van Walker, Jess Ribeiro and Tracy McNeil among others – with two sets of three songwriter sharing songs in the round each week, in the manner of Nashville's Blue Bird Café.
Says Les Thomas of country-folk & roots website Unpaved, “The great songs and talent are already here, so doing it this way makes perfect sense. Artists and audiences are responding beyond all expectations. Everyone leaves inspired.”
