A celebration of Australian music for the young, old and everyone in between

Harry Vanda and George Young are the masterminds behind much of what we consider “Aussie” music. As well as being members of the legendary Australian rock outfit, the Easybeats, they’re also the blokes that penned such hits as 'Love is in the Air' and 'Friday on my Mind'.

In honour of these masters of Down Under culture, those charming folks over at SBS’s Rockwiz – a classic show for classic musos – will be holding a tribute night entitled 'RocKwiz Salutes Vanda and Young'. The night will combine the programme’s trademark panel-show humour with stunning performances by Aussie musicians, both young and old, with a focus on the tunes that made Vanda and Young household names.

As is always the way with RocKwiz, the guests artists will be a secret, but the evening promises to be one full of many a chuckle, plenty of quality Australian music and more than a little trivia. Plus it’s an excuse to spend an extended period of time in the presence of the luminous Julia Zemiro – an opportunity we’d never pass up!
