The queen of pop proves to be a massive tease
Twenty years. Twenty years!!!
You remember that scene in The Nightmare Before Christmas when the little clay kids wake up to find horrible ghoulies in their stockings instead of awesome hand-crafted toys? Well, that's how Madge fans are feeling today after Live Nation announced Madonna will not be bringing her MDNA tour to Australia.
In February, Madge's manager, Guy Oseary, had touted Australia as a definite pit stop on the tour, and, according to news.com.au, arenas in Sydney and Melbourne had been booked for Madonna concerts in early 2013. But according to today's reports, Oseary contacted Live Nation overnight to say there had been a change in plan. Madonna is no longer coming to Oz.
The MDNA shows were set to be her first show in 20 years and there was huge anticipation – we'd already been practising our good-but-not-quite-as-good-as-we-were-in-the-'80s moves and picking out our outfits. Our digital content manager was going to be a crazy-bird-woman-from-'Frozen' Madge; Andrew P Street was picking his best Swept Away look. Alas, these will never see the light of day.
