Ever wanted to know what ambition tastes like? Then brace yourself for the first ever Time Out Melbourne Taste Test.
On June 18, the Stokehouse Cafe in St Kilda will be hosting a dinner where six of the city's most promising apprentices will go head to head in an epic battle of cunning (OK, cooking). And you're invited.
For the past two months, apprentices from the city's best restaurants have been honing their signature dishes in the hope of securing a spot in the final.
On the night they will prepare their dish as part of a six-course dinner (check out what the finalists will be cooking here) for 130 diners who will vote to determine the the winner. Which means you'll have a hand in naming Melbourne's Best Apprentice.
The winner takes home over $1K worth of prizes including a SodaStream, cookbook collection from Murdoch, a Shun premier Santoku knife, a winners apron from the Cooksshop, a magnum of Henkell sparkling wine and a trip to Sydney where they'll be put up at The Darling and will complete a stage at two of The Star's signature restaurants.
Tickets are $75, which includes your six-course dinner, a Henkell sparkling on arrival and a chance to win prizes of your own including a slew of cookbooks, a SodaStream, Breville toaster and subscriptions to Time Out.
It's going to be an epic night, so secure your ticket now, and help a young gun go from pantry to stardom. Call 03 9525 5555 to reserve your spot.
