Unless you live in the fifties, chances are the only things you know about your neighbour you gleaned by going through their bins. We just don't have that good old fashioned sense of community anymore, and that's what Open Table is trying to fix. Run on the first Sunday of each month at Brunswick Neighbourhood House, it's a big dinner, free to all, made using food donated by locals, community gardens and Second Bite (the champs who salvage food that would otherwise go to waste from bakeries, supermarkets and restaurants). If you want to bring something along, go ahead, and if you just want to bring yourself and a few yarns, well that's fine too. Ain't that just dandy?
