Time Out Melbourne

If you go down to the river you may just find lunch

Are You Game? To Get Hooked on Real Food and Wine is one of MFWF's most popular lunch events. Set aside your entire Saturday as you'll need it to help procure, prepare and then feast on food from the river and sea. The Blue Train leaves Southern Cross Station at 9am and heads for the Strathbogie Ranges where you will visit the Killeen Stables in Longwood. There will be game canapés, prosecco and a local blues band to get you in the riverside mood, then fly-fishing lessons, followed by a three-course lunch with matched wines. While everyone is fed and happy a charity auction will take place, and then a wild food preparation demonstration. Hello, life skills!
