Melbourne dished up a delicious 2013, and we're presenting the most delicious bits for you
Best Restaurant: Attica
It was Attica that took the gong for Best Restaurant at the Time Out Food Awards this year, but if you want to celebrate Ben Shewry's fantastical produce-driven, mind blowingly complex dishes you'll have to get in line. The wait list is epic. For a shorter queue, Saint Crispin came along a few months back and knocked our socks right off with everything from their pork crackling snacks to their whimsical produce-and-science-driven dishes.
Best Bar: Black Pearl
Brunswick Street's Black Pearl held onto its reputation as the best bar in town this year by uniting great service and on-point cocktails with a boredom-defying mix of hip-hop, jazz and blues.
Best Café: Hammer and Tong
For its waste-free innovations, we celebrated Silo by Joost this year, but for Sunday funday, we were all about new joint Hammer and Tong. The pop rock pancakes sucked us in and the raging hot Bloody Marys finished us off.
Best Pub: The Standard Hotel
The Standard Hotel took out the Hall of Fame gong at the Bar Awards this year for its committment to good old-fashioned parmas and beers in the courtyard and no pokie machines.
Best List: Lunches
You like a list Melbourne, that's for sure, and this year you liked to look at our favourite places for lunch. Here's to sandwiches and sneaking out of work and not coming back.
