Views to die for and a menu to match
At south-side eatery the Point you go for the steak and stay for the view. Dry-aged cuts chill in a sleek fridge at the entrance, ensuring you get your priorities straight at the earliest opportunity. The elegant split level venue works semi-casual in the downstairs café/bar area and super-fabulous in the more formal upstairs dining room. Both boast access to one of the best views in Melbourne - a desirable accolade to be sure.
Justin Wise (ex-Press Club, ex-Maze) is boss in the kitchen. While it might not be cheap (mains average out at $50 a hit and this ‘aint no sharing style) you will get what you pay for. Sure they worship the bovine but there are plenty of non-cow crowd pleasers too (including an excellent vegetarian degustation). With a wine list laid out by rock-star sommelier Jane Semple (ex-Ezard and Gingerboy) you’ll be sure to find something good to wash it all down with.
